Last month, we hosted our fourth panel discussion of the Board Performance Review series, a forum for major institutional investors and proxy advisors to give feedback on corporate board performance. This time around, however, we added a little twist... Board members joined the panel discussion to offer a point-counterpoint perspective on a range of timely governance issues-from board composition and refreshment to director performance.

In this week's episode, we share footage from the panel discussion hosted jointly by Boardroom Resources and PwC's Governance Insights Center. Moderator Paul DeNicola guides discussion with insights from PwC's recently published 2017 Annual Corporate Directors Survey to elicit both investors and director views:
  • What steps are boards taking to drive refreshment in today's boardrooms?
  • How are investors evaluating board skill sets?
  • Why has directors' discontent with peer performance risen to an all-time high?
  • What are investor expectations around board diversity? How do they evaluate or weigh different types of diversity (e.g., gender, race, age, tenure, etc.)?
